Alla fine della stagione 2008 è stato deciso congiuntamente da parte di Aimont Racing Team e di Subaru Italia di concludere il rapporto di collaborazione tra le due società. Una decisione presa in maniera serena e trasparente da entrambe, che credono essere giunta alla fase conclusiva una fattiva collaborazione che ha portato numerose soddisfazioni e tanti trofei nella bacheca delle due società, protagoniste indiscusse dell’ultimo decennio agonistico.

l rapporto tra Aimont Racing Team e Subaru Italia è stato sinonimo di successi e vittorie raccolte in tutti i Campionati, sin dal primo sigillo datato 1999 con la conquista del Campionato Italiano Costruttori, seguito nella stagione successiva dal Campionato Italiano Terra, senza dimenticare la doppietta della fantastica stagione 2004 con Navarra tricolore e Subaru Italia campione tra i Costruttori, che ha preceduto il trionfo di Longhi nella cavalcata del 2005 all’esordio con la nuovissima Impreza N11 e il meritatissimo Campionato Italiano Costruttori 2006 vinto da Subaru Italia, con Longhi campione tra i Gruppi N e vincitore della Coppa Europa.

“Parlare del rapporto tra Aimont Racing Team e Subaru Italia significa ripercorrere una lunghissima striscia di vittorie e risultati di prestigio raggiunti in questi dieci lunghi anni – spiega Pierfrancesco Zanchi, Managing Director che dal 2006 è alla guida della struttura novarese – dove è stato svolto un ottimo lavoro, scaturito dalla collaborazione con tutto il Management di Subaru Italia.
Colgo per questo motivo l’occasione per ringraziare Alberto Zambelli Rain, responsabile Marketing e P.R. di Subaru Italia e tutto il suo staff che ha supportato Aimont Racing Team permettendo alle rispettive strutture di ottenere grandi successi e soddisfazioni.
Ci tengo a precisare che rimarremo legati al marchio Subaru, grazie soprattutto al mantenimento del rapporto con Prodrive. Infatti, nonostante l’abbandono dell’attività ufficiale Subaru in Italia, continuerà il nostro rapporto con la Casa delle Pleiadi per quanto riguarda il Customer Team e tutti i programmi dei nostri clienti privati. La collaborazione con Prodrive si andrà così a rafforzare per quanto riguarda Gruppi N e World Rally Car. Nonostante la decisione di FHI (Fuji Heavy Industries) di sospendere il programma ufficiale di Subaru nel WRC, Prodrive continuerà a supportare anche l’attività clienti di Aimont Racing Team. E’ infatti intenzione di Prodrive e ancor più di Aimont Racing Team quella di rimanere protagonisti nel panorama italiano e continentale. Ci piace vincere e non smetteremo di farlo”.

Questa decisione si ripercuote ovviamente anche sui piloti, con Piero Longhi che dà l’addio a Subaru Italia dopo 6 lunghi anni costellati di vittorie assolute e trofei, tra cui spicca il titolo di Campione Italiano Rally 2005 con la Subaru Impreza N11. “Sinceramente pensavo di chiudere la carriera con Subaru Italia – sottolinea il driver Piero Longhi - a cui sono legato ormai da diverse stagioni nelle quali abbiamo raggiunto risultati di rilievo e indimenticabili trionfi. Il mio rapporto con Alberto Zambelli (responsabile Marketing e P.R. di Subaru Italia) è stato e sarà sempre speciale e va al di là del semplice rapporto lavorativo.
In questi anni la Subaru, anche per quello che ha sempre rappresentato nei Rally, ha permesso di farmi conoscere al grande pubblico e di raggiungere numerose vittorie.
Ringrazio molto per questo Zambelli, Prighel, Sghedoni e tutto lo staff di Subaru Italia per questi sei anni passati insieme, facendo loro un grosso in bocca al lupo per le prossime sfide.
Si è chiuso un ciclo, ma io sono sempre pronto a rimettermi in gioco. Penso di avere dato molto a questa disciplina, ma di avere ancora altrettanto da poter offrire, per cui valuteremo nei prossimi giorni come affrontare la stagione 2009”.

After the 2008 season closed, Aimont Racing Team and Subaru Italy jointly decided to end the collaboration between the two companies. The decision has been taken in a calm and clear way from both companies, believing that the moment has come to end an effective cooperation that brought fulfillment and lots of trophies for both of them, undisputed protagonists of this last ten years of motorsport activities.

The collaboration between Aimont Racing Team and Subaru Italy has been synonym of success and wins in all championships, since the first Italian Manufacturers Championship victory in 1999, followed the next season by the Italian Gravel Championship win, and not to be forgotten the great 2004 season, with Andrea Navarra winner of the Italian Rally Championship and Subaru Italy winner of the Manufacturers Title. The 2005 season saw Piero Longhi winning with the new Impreza N11 and in 2006 Subaru Italy won again the Manufacturer Title with Piero Longhi Group N and Europe Cup winner.

“To talk about the relationship between Aimont Racing Team and Subaru Italy means to go over a long list of victories and important results achieved in these long ten years” said Pierfrancesco Zanchi, Managing Director of the team since 2006, “It’s been done a really great job as a result of the collaboration with the whole Management of Subaru Italy. I take this opportunity to thank Alberto Zambelli Rain, Marketing manager and P.R. of Subaru Italy and the whole staff that supported Aimont Racing Team, allowing both companies to achieve good results.
I’d like to say that we will still be bound with the Subaru make thanks to the collaboration with Prodrive. We closed our official activity with Subaru in Italy, but we will continue our collaboration with this brand as far as concern the Customer Team and all the programs of our private clients. The cooperation with Prodrive will be strengthened as far as concern Group N cars and WRC. Despite the decision of F.H.I. (Fuji Heavy Industries) to suspend Subaru’s official program in the World Rally Championship, Prodrive will still support Aimont Racing activity with its clients. Prodrive and even more Aimont Racing Team, intend to continue being protagonists on the Italian and European scenes. We like to win and we will keep on doing it”.

The decision involves also the drivers, with Piero Longhi leaving Subaru Italy after 6 long years, studded with wins and trophies, among which the Italian Rally Title in 2005 with the Subaru Impreza N11.
“I believed I’d close my career with Subaru Italy” said Piero Longhi “I’ve been working with them for quite a few seasons now and we achieved important results and unforgettable triumphs. My relationship with Alberto Zambelli Rain (Marketing Manager and P.R. of Subaru Italy) has been and will always be very special and goes beyond the mere working relationship. Throughout all these years Subaru, also because of what it represents in rallying, gave me the opportunity to made me known to the public and reach several victories. I want to thank a lot Zambelli, Prighel , Sghedoni and the whole staff of Subaru Italy for all the years we spent together and I want to wish them good luck for their next challenges. A cycle is closing, but I’m always ready to stake. I think I gave a lot to this discipline, but to still have something to give. In the next days we will evaluate how to face the 2009 season”.
